this is really the only downside of leaving Europe for Asia tbh

But it's not that hard to manage either:

> I see my parents/siblings about twice every XX months, usually by spending a month in France and having them visit me in Asia during holidays

> same with childhood friends: some come visit me in Asia, I catch up with all when I’m back in France, and I’ve made new friends here too (not the same vibe, but still important)

the end goal is to get them all to move to Asia someday

working hard in the trenches to make that a reality
