The parents signaled they weren't ready to care for the chick, so a puppet feeds them. Strangely if a chick gets used to interacting with humans, it will not breed when it comes of age. It doesn't have to be a perfect replica of the adult vulture, but the chick responds to certain signals, such as the pale orange coloration on its featherless head and neck.
