Why is BTC having problems getting over $120k after just breaking $100k? Maybe because $118k is a magic number if you bought bitcoin long ago. $118k is $100k plus $18k to pay XX% long term capital gains tax on the sale. 
Selling XX BTC at $118k leaves you $1M after taxes.
