I wasn’t making a Dem vs Rep point, they’re pretty much the same with this stuff although they talk differently about it.
The broader point, speaking as a part time commercial real estate developer is that your government seems openly hostile to business activity, they layer red tape atop red tape, all in the name of “safety” and YOU pay for it all. Most building codes are sensible but this thread is a great example of overkill
