This is true but the causation isn’t capitalism in itself.

Thatchers legacy was basically opening up our economy to the world and we saw investment come from all kinds of people and places. (Which is why she will go down as the worst prime minister in history in my eyes, she sold us out)

What this allowed is specific people with specific ideologies to gain power and slowly but surely systemically push all kinds of ideals on to people, one of them being the destruction of religion.

I’m not going to get into all the conspiracies and finger point, but this is the truth.

The indulgence in money and greed was a consequence of religion being abandoned, not a consequence of capitalism. Capitalism never actually changed, it was who we allowed to operate within our system that changed.

This is a core difference in thinking. People seem to think capitalism fosters greed and is the problem, where as in reality capitalism is just a system. It is neither good or bad.

It’s people who actually cause the problems regardless of the system, and religion is the strongest thing we have that keeps people from crossing moral boundaries in the first place.

It’s actually the same argument as “do guns kill people or do people kill people?”

It’s people who kill people.

We should always hold people accountable and not blame external things. But unfortunately the people who infiltrated us pushed a Marxist sickness that taught us to reject religion and as a consequence made us deflect responsibility from ourselves and allowed us to justify and normalise our sins.
