With the average effective tariff rate at XXXX% as of July 14, 2025—the highest since 1910—Trump now proposes a "rebate" for the very Americans his tariffs have already taxed. This isn't generosity; it's a shell game.

Economists like Yale's Ernie Tedeschi confirm tariffs are a regressive tax, costing lower-income families ~$1,500 annually. Yet, just weeks ago on July 4, 2025, Trump signed a tax cut extending 2017 benefits, projected to lose $XXX trillion & largely aid the wealthy. "Paying down debt" indeed.

The admin's pattern is clear: tax the poor, cut for the rich, then offer crumbs from the very table they overturned. Accountability is overdue.
