This is Glenda in the picture. Some of you may remember that I posted about her last February on Valentine's day. You know I do a lot of cooking for events in our building and I had cooked a large assortment of desserts for Valentine's. Glenda is very hard of hearing and she relies mainly on reading lips although she can speak but it takes a while for someone to understand what she is saying. She was raised in an orphanage. As I was arranging all the desserts on Valentine's Day I found out that she had never had a birthday cake in her whole life and Valentine's Day is her birthday. Well I didn't have time to suddenly make one on spur of the moment so I ran to the store and got her a cake. She was so surprised. She cried. She had never had her own personal birthday cake and we all sang Happy Birthday to her. Well today X and a half months later she spoke a language I totally understand. Beautifully. She spoke with language from the heart. Today at 9:00 Glenda knocked on my door and presented me with a birthday cake. I was stunned and of course Russell's mouth started salivating. Isn't this delightful? I am so emotional that out of all the XXX residents she remembered and I really don't know how she knew it. I kept it quiet in my building. Of course most of you know my birthday was a week ago today but she doesn't need to know that LOL. I am blessed.
