I've struggled with this, especially being deep in the RWA space and seeing most teams hype up their own chains. I would imagine an L2 gives those teams the security of the L1, but the flexibility of customizing the L2 to best fit the needs of the particular asset class, the expectations of their partners/users, and the ability to further evolve their ecosystem without the same restraints that might come from playing in someone else's playground (L2).
