To me, this is a signal of market froth, not fundamental demand. It's financial engineering to capture a NAV premium, completely detached from ETH's actual blockspace demand (~$1M/day in fees). 
Doesn't this create a fragile, reflexive loop that could collapse just as quickly as it forms?
