Looking into cattle farming. High level numbers told by a buddy:

- Buy a bred cow for $2,500-$3,000
- The calf is worth $XXXXX at birth
- Raise the calf until it is weaned (6 months) it is worth $XXXXX

If you sell the cow and calf together as a pair you get $XXXXX to $XXXXX

Industry seems ripe to scale as old farmers are starting to die off and younger people are not getting into cattle farming as they could do anything else with their time like tech. 

Anyone have experience here in this business?
