“Found 7.2M to short” ≠ new real shares. That’s just reported borrow inventory/locates sloshing around prime brokers, rehypothecated to death. It can show 7M at 9:15 and 700k at 9:25. 

Institutions buying on lit venues is demand, not ammo for shorts,unless you think BlackRock buys so Citadel can borrow from them at X% and torch their own cost basis. 

The real tell is borrow rate + utilization + DRS-reduced float. When rates rise and utilization hugs 100%, that “7.2M” is mostly a mirage. Crypto is a liquidity piggy bank, sure,but it doesn’t magically mint hard-to-borrow $GME.
