Tornado Cash Founder Roman Storm Trial Adjourned, Defense Begins Witness Testimony

According to HashNews, after eight days of witness testimony in the criminal trial of Tornado Cash founder Roman Storm, the prosecution has rested the case by Thursday. The defense immediately began calling witnesses, with the first being Ethereum developer Preston Van Loon. He stated that Tornado Cash is a tool built to meet privacy needs, aiming to protect user identities and transaction security, although part of the user base might use it for illegal purposes. Over the next three days, the defense will continue to summon additional witnesses to challenge the prosecution's accusations of Storm aiding and promoting money laundering. Allegedly, if convicted, Storm faces up to XX years in prison.
