Breaking News | Peru, ca. 1000 BCE

Archaeologists have uncovered a 3,000-year-old polychrome mural with sculpted reliefs in northern Peru. The X m-tall painted wall features red and yellow geometric motifs and an anthropomorphic figure linked to Cupisnique iconography.

Discovered by farmers in 2020 and studied over three years, the site shows Late Pre-Ceramic traits like curved corners, truncated adobe bricks, and absence of ceramics—suggesting it was part of a ritual temple structure.
