My opinion:

Transitioning people from pesos, Bolivars, and whatever really bad currencies to the dollar makes it much easier for them to transition one more step to bitcoin since they have the wallet and the habit of paying with a card or their phone.  Their payment app will have both USD and BTC as an option and as more vendors accept then prefer BTC, they will increasing choose harder money over softer money.
