On Sapphire Valley's site (the resort owns most the lake except Camp Merrie-Woode on the NW side), they mention the workings are still down there. 

I forget who, but someone there told me in person that there are also remains of their equipment off in the woods on the NE side. That would be interesting to see. I have a lot there so I can access the lake and walk the trail around it, but this time of year, when Camp Merrie-Woode is in session, they close off the part up there since the trail cuts right through it. For the safety of the campers - you know at the least some smartass would probably think it would be a fine gag to dress as Jason Voorhees and go walking through!
