Bro, the canon of the bible was established by the 4th century at the councils of Hippo, Carthage and Rome. This canon is the first canon to include the XX books we call the new testament and was the canon used for liturgical purposes throughout the history of the church. It was reaffirmed at Florence (15th century) and Trent (16th century) but those certainly were reaffirmations of what the church had been using since the beginning.
