Humanoid robots feel familiar, but are they optimal?

When AI meets robotics, we may rely on human-like forms for convenience, not logic.

Just as skeuomorphic UIs made it easier to use smartphones before flat design took over, robots could start with a human form and then evolve toward pure functionality.
