Seeing the backlash, Japhet Omojuwa said the rejection of GMO by Nigerians is a cordinated attack on Aproko Doctor, because of his achievements. And it is unnecessary because Doc is an expert. — Which is false. Aproko Doctor is not an expert or even intermediate in biotechnology. He’s simply a Medical Doctor and content creator. In his explainer video he reiterated this. Old tweets from Aproko condemned the effects GMO causes. So, Nigerians believe Omojuwa’s stance is biased because of his sentiments toward David Hundeyin, a whistleblower and investigative journalist who picked an eternal war with Omojuwa’s political mentors. Unfortunately, GMO remains bad. No need for another epistle. If GMO succeeds in Nigeria, the west will not only control our economy (allegedly), but by extension, our Agriculture. This is the reason most European countries have banned GMO. While it has its advantages, the disadvantages supersede. The Biotech industries pushing GMO till date are yet to prove that GMO are not cancerous or harmful to humans. Meanwhile there are many individuals research proving GMO are unsafe and needs more research. In essence, GMO’s should be the last resort in cases of famine, due to climate problems. Another angle is, it carried vitamins which would help balance nutrient in kids, in poor countries. — They would only eat if they can afford the rice, no? So.. GMO’s shouldn’t even be a discussion. It is today, because influencers are pushing it. But so far, Nigeria doesn’t have GMO problems. So we do not need GMO. Bill Gates remains the number X influencer for GMO, because he’s a major investor.
