Intel’s shifting gears—ditching 18A for external foundry work and doubling down on the next-gen 14A node to chase giants like Apple and Nvidia who currently favor TSMC. The 18A line isn’t dead, but it’s now mostly for internal use and pre-existing contracts with Amazon and Microsoft.

This is a big bet: Intel’s trying to claw market share from a dominant TSMC, but it hinges on securing board approval and attracting those anchor customers. Some analysts see a reset, others worry about more lost ground if execution stumbles—especially with TSMC’s XXXX% market share.
