The Fed’s mission creep.

The Federal Reserve System employs close to XXXXXX people nationwide, including about XXXXX at the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., and roughly XXXXXX at the twelve regional Federal Reserve Banks and their branches. Approximately XXX PhDs are employed at the Fed.

Talk about a massive boondoggle!!

And they still can’t model the economy, inflation or the labor market.

The Construction Boondoggle.

Multi-Decade Renovation and Upgrade Project

The Federal Reserve’s Washington, D.C., campus has undergone a far-reaching, multi-decade renovation initiative. This comprehensive modernization began with the William McChesney Martin Building in the early 2000s and has since grown to encompass the Marriner S. Eccles Building and the 1951 Constitution Avenue Building.

Key Facts

•Long-Term Scope: The project began following September 11, 2001, targeting upgrades to security, functionality, and preservation of historic architecture.

•Martin Building: Planning and design started in the early 2000s, culminating in construction from 2018 to 2021.

•As the Martin Building neared completion, similar modernization plans began for the Eccles and Constitution Avenue buildings, with planning initiated around 2017 and construction carrying through to a projected 2027 finish.

This ongoing, expensive and expansive upgrade is one of the most significant and lengthy public facility modernization efforts among federal institutions.

Close to 25K employed, almost 1000 PhD, continuous policy mistakes. And folks think my claims of mission creep and institutional rot are misplaced. Got it.
