why Acosta would confirm it, in the face of an OPR investigation into his weak plea deal, should be obvious.
as for the deal itself: it's hard to judge because we don't know the strength of the palm beach case against epstein. but I'm happy to concede for the sake of argument that it was a bad plea deal. again: so what? it doesn't get you anywhere. prosecutors make bad plea deals all the time, for all kinds of reasons.
