Magistrate Linus Samunzala has granted Lydia Elindi bail of N$50,000 after the state lifted its objection to bail.

The state had initially suggested bail of N$30,000.

Lydia Elindi, along with her husband, is one of the accused in the NAMCOR corruption case.

As part of the bail conditions, Elindi is required to report to the Anti-Corruption Commission every Tuesday and Friday, hand over all travel documents, remain within the Windhoek district until the matter is finalised, and surrender her two firearms.

State prosecutor advocate Basson Lilungwe said the fact that the state no longer opposes her bail does not mean that she no longer faces the charges.
