“The Malaysian Prime Minister [and ASEAN Chair Anwar Ibrahim] spoke with the Cambodian Prime Minister before calling me. I then informed him that the principle [having Amwar as mediator] was okay, but the method of management, along with the date, time, and location, would need to be clearly shown by the Cambodian side. This is because Thailand adheres to peaceful means and has consistently tried to request negotiations, but Cambodia has never shown interest or engaged in talks, allowing Thai authorities to unilaterally present conditions. This demonstrates a lack of sincerity.”
