Uematsu moved there for X year to work on FF9. He said he worked everyday morning to night and even on weekends while he was there. He also said before going to Hawaii he visited Europe for X weeks to add a more medieval feel to the music. "I just enjoyed working every day. From FFV to FFIX, I was working almost nonstop.
