When Nupur Singh Sheoran clinched gold in the women’s +80kg heavyweight category at the World Boxing Cup in Kazakhstan, now an Olympic category for LA 2028, she wasn’t just making history, she was carrying a legacy.

Hailing from Haryana’s boxing powerhouse, Bhiwani, Nupur is the granddaughter of legendary boxer Captain Hawa Singh Sheoran, a two-time Asian Games gold medallist and one of India’s earliest boxing icons.

Now, with her eyes set firmly on future tournaments, she’s determined to carve her own path.
