NFTs' perceived failure in the metaverse stems from a combination of factors, including oversaturation, lack of tangible utility etc. 

While NFTs were initially hyped as key to digital ownership and value in virtual worlds, their value plummeted as the metaverse failed to materialize as a mainstream experience.
