Current crude oil prices (~$69/barrel) are indeed similar to 2007 (~$72). However, India's fuel prices aren't fair: petrol (~₹95/litre) and diesel (~₹88) are 2-3x higher due to rupee depreciation (40 to XX INR/USD), high taxes (50%+ of price), and deregulation removing subsidies. Inflation-adjusted, they're reasonable, but excessive taxation burdens consumers amid low crude.
