Tulane University’s LSD and Brain Stimulation (1950s–1970s) Dr. Robert Heath at Tulane University conducted experiments.  

Heath dosed schizophrenia patients and prisoners with LSD and bulbocapnine, implanting electrodes to stimulate brain regions and record EEGs. He aimed to understand psychosis and behavioral modification.  
Advanced neuroscientific understanding of brain-drug interactions but raised questions about consent and the ethics of invasive procedures.  
Most of the time he lacked informed consent, targeting vulnerable populations. Later criticized as part of broader unethical experimentation trends. His experiments raised ethical controversies, leading to reforms in human subject research.
