Sadly like so many Israelis it seems he has become a political activist. The reason Hamas was so opposed to GHF and has violently committed to making it fail is as follows: The pre-existing modus operandi between Hamas and the UN is that Hamas will steal a decent chunk of the aid and sell it back to the population via the markets in Gaza. This allows Hamas to earn money and pay its fighters. This is especially important now that the IDF has control of the normal smuggling routes, and many ordinary consumer goods are not entering Gaza which can be taxed. None of this is to say that the GHF plan was completely workable, but the motivation was mostly to deprive Hamas of financial resources, not to 'win the hearts and minds of Gazans'. Almost nobody believes that bullshit in Israel. Certainly not today. Polls show a vast majority of Palestinian Arabs do not want Hamas disarmed. Very disappointed in @michael_mils who I had a lot of respect for.
