Not all people social security is taxed at the lower levels, indeed most are taxed at higher levels, even the top tax level.  This doesn't jive with so little money being returned to the trust fund.

So my data was the 2022 which had less than $50B returned while almost half of social security revenue (in excess of $1T) was taxed.  That is less than 10%, no?
