The myth that it “won hearts” is a disgusting distortion of the truth. What Christianity won was the favor of sell-out emperors, warlords, and illiterate, corrupted layer of society who needed a pacifying doctrine to dumb down their populations, erase ancestral identity, and create obedient tax-paying drones to the church and rabbis.
