Rather, the fantasy is "I WENT on a date and I GOT married to the cannibal holocaust denier, and now I can tell OTHER people that the 1980 horror movie IS actually a real snuff film". The product being sold is not a happy ending ever after. The product being sold, the fantasy, is a bad relationship and a break up. Due to the dopamine slot machine incentive manipulation, that means that it is actively encouraging bad relationships and break ups.
