Russia already tried to distract and, in turn, destabilise Europe just before invading Ukraine. The migrant crisis on the Polish Belarusian border was entirely their doing. Belarus, acting as a Russian proxy, pushed migrants to cross the border into Poland and throughout Europe. At the time, Angela Merkel tried to speak on Poland’s behalf when Poland flatly refused to let migrants in. This infuriated the Polish government and tensions built within the EU, but that was soon forgotten once Russia went ahead with its plan to attack Ukraine. Since then, Poland has taken a no nonsense approach when it comes to illegal migrants. Russia needed a new way to distract the world from paying close attention to what was happening in the Russia Ukraine war. Lo and behold, the October 7th attack happened. What did Russia do? They condemned Israel for their response, of course. The connection between Russia and the Middle East is something I have already spoken about, but Cheryl will shed more light on this in her next big article.
