This video was my first ever Dakota mega wedge #tornado setup - the Manchester F4 on June 24, 2003. This was when I first realized the unstable warm frontal / outflow boundary zones during summer produce the largest, most violent tornadoes. They are often very slow moving, if not stationary, with the classic easterly under westerly wind profile and big instability. The El Reno mega wedge #tornado from 2013, as well as the Bennington, KS mega wedges from 2013 and 2016, the Pilger Twin EF4 tornadoes, Coleridge and Alpena days in 2014 were also similar setups. This year, the Spiritwood, ND and Gary, SD #tornado setups were also similar unstable warm front / outflow boundary zones with summer instability.
