#OTD in 1946: a RAF C-47 [Registration “KN585”] crashes in Bassein (Myanmar). All XX aboard die. After take-off, on initial climb, plane flew through a thunderstorm. The severe turbulence exceeded the aircraft´s design limits, causing left wing to break from fuselage.
