Tariffs 101:
When Trump says “Japan pays 15%” — he’s either lying or doesn’t understand basic economics.

Tariffs are taxes paid by American importers — not Japan.
That means you, the consumer, end up footing the bill with higher prices.

Meanwhile, Japan gets American goods cheaper?

So either he’s bluffing the base…
or he genuinely thinks other countries wire checks to the U.S. Treasury.
