The biggest confusion destroying Africa: people blame capitalism for problems caused by cronyism.

They see businesses succeeding only through government connections and think "this proves capitalism is evil."

But they've never witnessed normal business where you don't need to know politicians to succeed.

What they're seeing isn't free markets.

It's called cronyism, which is actually anti-market.
