DeSantis could have done it without constantly invoking Trump’s name (“We need to help with Trump’s mandate”, “Trump wants us to do this”, “Trump supports this policy”, etc.). Then the whole Florida Legislature thing (“Trump doesn’t want that bill”). DeSantis is governor of Florida, not Trump. Then playing golf with him. SMH. I understand the other side too. Trump was very supportive of Everglades Restoration and other issues. And Trump was helpful financially. But DeSantis overdid it.
