I love people being able to speak their mind. Express whatever ideas they want, no matter how repugnant.

There are, however, lines. Not many lines… but they are pretty clear.

If you knowingly lie about someone (libel), you become liable for possible damages.

And if you incite violence, you may have criminal charges brought against you.

Here, @NickJFuentes is — clearly — attempting to incite violence. While (likely) committing libel.

He states, repeatedly, that Jews (both in general, and specific names) are going to murder you. His goal is obviously to cause violence. To whip people into a frenzy and attack Jews.

A few thoughts:

1) The individuals mentioned (@GadSaad, @benshapiro, etc.) may have a case against Fuentes. Libel is difficult to prove but the statements are so extreme, that it is possible.

2) Considering the increase in violence targeting Jews within the USA, and Fuentes’ history of similar statements regarding Jews, it seems reasonable that Fuentes may become criminally liable.

3) @X and @Rumble allow Fuentes to use their services to publish and promote his incitement of violence. While I strongly support the free speech stance of both platforms, continuing to support and promote (and profit from) Fuentes could land both companies in legal (criminal) trouble.

4) Both X and Rumble have simple terms of service. And Fuentes has clearly violated both. Repeatedly. Does either platform intend to enforce those terms and rules? If not, why do they exist?

How X and Rumble will handle the position they are in, because of hosting Fuentes, remains to be seen.
