The story of US electricity bills rising as data centres burden grids is gathering momentum. 

Price hikes of 25-30% being discussed. Would take a bursting of the AI/data centre bubble and/or a mild recession to rein demand in. 

As a UK resident, I can confirm that letting power prices get away from you is not where you want to be politically! 

Also creates a material disadvantage for businesses competing internationally, something which has worked in America’s favour previously.
