XX July 2003. Death of Ludwig Bölkow (b. XX June 1912). German aeronautical pioneer. In January 1943, he was appointed head of the Messerschmitt Bf XXX development office in Vienna. Post-war he formed Bölkow GmbH in Ottobrunn, which became Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB).
