If people insist on historical comparisons, which I don't think are accurate, but ok, let's entertain it.

Opium Wars were started by the UK, but only AFTER China cracked down on UK opium trade in SE Asia/China.

In other words, China had an opium problem BECAUSE UK was selling drugs into China. But then China cracked down on this trade confiscating and pouring opium into the South China Sea Tea Party style.

That is when the UK attacked China with its military "to protect free trade".

So, if you want a historical comparison, US should crack down on incoming fentanyl, by arresting traders and punishing dealers--Chinese or otherwise--and THEN, if China attacks the US with submarines and nukes "to protect free trade" I will go fight for the US against China, how's that?
