President John Mahama has directed that, effective today, 24th July 2025, no government-awarded contract, regardless of the source of funding, should be denominated in foreign currency. 

Additionally, companies, institutions, and individuals are prohibited from pricing, advertising, issuing receipts, or making payments in foreign currency in Ghana.
