It is essential to note that these events are geographically restricted to remote areas of the Thai–Cambodian border and do not impact the vast majority of the country, including popular tourist destinations. Temporary Border Closure: To safeguard the well-being of residents and travellers, the 2nd Army Region of the Royal Thai Army issued Special Order No. 613/2568 on XX July 2025, which enacts the temporary closure of specific border checkpoints and tourist areas along the Thai–Cambodian frontier. Key points of this order include: ● Suspension of cross-border travel through designated checkpoints in affected areas, including Chong Bok and Chong Ta Muen Thom. ● Closure of border-area tourist attractions located within security zones under army control. ● Temporary halt to trade and civilian crossings in these zones until the situation stabilises.
