Just looking at IMAX earnings results. Haven’t gone deep yet (I’m in meetings) but at first glance, my hunch is the market is disappointed that IMAX revenue growth far under-indexed the box office growth.

Total box office grew XX% (2024 was strike impacted). IMAX box office grew 41%. But IMAX revenue only grew 3%.

I’ve obsessed AMC, not IMAX, so I’d have to go see where the disconnect comes from.

Still positive results- they grew net income (earnings) significantly and expanded their margins (became more profitable.)

I also see they’re highlighting quite a few screen installations still planned.

Theatrical industry is growing/recovering.
