I'm an old guy by crypto standards... the space is full of 20-year-old young men... I could be their father.

My issue is that I have a strict risk management strategy, and I tend to focus more on what I can lose than what I might gain.

That’s important, essential, even, but you also need to be willing to take a bit more risk when the reward-to-risk ratio looks good.
