The Islamic invasions a thousand years later are archaeologically invisible and consisted only of a change of ruling class. Peoples certainly moved in and out of the region, and the Palestinians have a cosmopolitan mix of genes in their veins, but they're DNA shows them to be descendants of the mix of peoples who passed through the region for millennia.
