1/ In optimistic rollups, anyone can propose a new state. The chain assumes it’s valid

unless someone disputes it.

That’s why fraud proofs are critical.

- Without a robust fraud resolution mechanism, invalid states can pass as legitimate, and the L2 becomes insecure or exploitable.
