I'd argue this is borderline VC malpractice. A $400k salary is ~4% of a standard $10M Series A, burning a founding engineer's worth of runway on a single non-technical hire. 
With early-stage failure rates over 90%, isn't this just setting the company up to die faster, but with more Twitter followers?
