The Sneakiest K Prop Today 👀🤫

Jason Alexander o3.5 Ks
-XXX FD #BuiltForThis

Sneaky spot where I see some potential ladder 🪜 upside here if he doesn’t get absolutely shelled.

Alexander isn’t a name you’re probably too familiar with, likely because he’ll only be making his 2nd start with the Astros this season.

In his first start, he went a solid X IP with X Ks against this same Athletics squad last month. And funny enough, it’s his former team - he made X appearances on the mound with the Athletics earlier this year.

Instant advantage to the pitcher, and in another revenge spot, I like him to capitalize.

Alexander is coming off a X strikeout outing in AAA where he pitched deep going XXX IP in just XX pitches.

In that game he leveraged his high usage changeup to rack up X Ks and X total whiffs.

And that’s not just a one time stat, over Alexander’s last X minor league starts - his changeup held a XXXX% K% with a XXXX% whiff % and just a .100 batting average.

Luckily for him, he now gets an Athletics team that…

âś… Has seen the MOST RHP Changeups over the last XX days
âś… Is striking out at a XXXX% K% to RHP changeups in that span (most in the MLB)
âś… Has racked up XX whiffs with a XXXX% whiff rate (both by far the most in the MLB). The next closest team has XX whiffs
âś… Batting just .174 against RHP changeups, 5th worst in the MLB

Full season stats even tell the same story - still number one in whiffs, whiff %, and strikeouts to RHP changeups.

The remainder of Alexander’s mix consists of a 4-seam, sinker, sweeper and cutter with his sinker and 4S touching the mid 90s in velocity.

The A’s are still bottom X in every strikeout statistic against these two pitches vs RHP over the last month.

We’ve seen X of the last X starting RHP at home vs the A’s go for a minimum of X Ks… while I think that’s a stretch for Alexander coming back to the majors, 4-5 Ks shouldn’t be at all.
